I use these shoes for trail running and hiking and they are great. They have good traction, a roomy toe box, are comfortable right out of the box, and are light weight.

This is a great shoe for walking/running on paths and dirt roads. I live in the forest where there is not a paved road for miles. Small rocks are always an issue. This shoes provides great stability and does slide over the rocks as in the case of other pavement focused running shoes. Fits a little higher on the ankle to keep out those pesky pebbles.

I've been wearing Solomon trail runners for a few years now and was hoping to find a back up pair for my current ones. These are it! They have a roomy (but not overly so) toe box, fairly aggressive tread, and are a light and breathable. If I didn't love my current pair so much these would have immediately become my go-to trail shoes. As it is now, at least I know once I wear out my current pair, these will be ready to go!

  • “Does this fit true to size?”

    • According to our fit team this item is running true to size.

    • I've been running for about 30 years, and as far as I know, Salomon is the only company that makes shoes that fit in your normal dress shoe size. I wear a 5 1/2 dress shoe, and wear 6 1/2 in ASICS and Saucony, 6 in New Balance, Keen and Chaco and 5 1/2 in Salomon. I have a high arch and instep, and Salomons fit my feet like custom-made slippers. I do have a pair of size 6 Salomons that I got for winter running -- I sized up so that I could wear very thick socks with them.

About Salomon

The legendary Salomon outdoor equipment company was founded more than 60 years ago in the French Alps by Francois Salomon. After developing the world’s first self-releasing ski binging in 1966, the company continued to grow and innovate new products. By the early 1990s, the brand had taken the wintersports market by storm with Salomon skis made using cap construction, a totally new innovation at the time. Salmon boots quickly became famous for their balance of performance and comfort on the slopes. By the turn of the century, Salomon snowboards were helping athletes push themselves in the park and powder. Today, Salomon continues to be an industry leader, with products that range from skis and snowboards to hiking boots and trail running shoes.
