Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Excellent comfort! Misleading colorVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hunter and fisherman from South Dakota on Sunday, December 10, 2017Have been wearing Salomon’s footwear for many years and the speedcross are one of their most comfortable for my feet! Very form fitting and hugs the foot nicely. Traction is excellent in most terrains but the cushion isn’t quite perfect for large rocks. I use the shoe for both running and everyday wear and enjoy it for both.
The shoe color was advertised as gray but mine showed up as more of a purple. I have seen other shoes with the same color problems but also have seen them in more of a true gray. Not a huge deal to me so I will not be returning.
Don't take them off ever!Verified Buyer Reviewed by John the Revelator from South Caroline on Tuesday, December 5, 2017I have had these for about a week. I've worn them every day as my choice for casual shoes because they are so supportive and comfortable the lacing system is quick and easily adjustable from snug for running or loose for a relaxing walk. I've put about 12 miles on these so far. Superb! I have noticed the sole is not especially grippy on wet marble or granite.
Arches too highReviewed by Coolcatpat1 from Colorado on Tuesday, November 21, 2017I was really excited about these shoes. I've never had a pair of Solomons, but I've heard great things. Unfortunately, the arches in these shoes were just way too high. They hurt my feet when I wore them for 15 minutes around the house. They'll be returned.
Salomon loveVerified Buyer Reviewed by Brad P from Utah on Thursday, November 16, 2017I love these shoes. Hiking, around town or a baseball field they are amazing
Close to greatVerified Buyer Reviewed by David from Colorado on Tuesday, November 14, 2017I wanted to like these shoes more than I do. They have a durable, well made feel, grippe and aggressive tread, and a soft, neutral cushion. However, their heel-to-toe drop is about 6mm too much in my opinion. The toe box is too narrow for my average width feet. The innovative lacing system is actually more annoying than helpful as it requires the shoe’s tongue to be extra large to accommodate the stowed laces. Once snug, the laces don’t stretch one bit. Combined with the fairly rigid shoe material this makes for an uncomfortable fit. Despite these gripes, I still like this shoe and will be wearing it for technical, shorter distance trail running.
