Final Rating to Come

I've done some easy walking and only one three mile hike in these shoes. Due to the weird laces and tongue, this shoe requires break in time which is very odd for a light trail shoe. Sole grip, stiffness and cushioning are good for scrambling over rock. Due to the design, there is some slight abrasion on top of two toes, we'll see if that results in a return to STP. My previous light hiker was a Vasque trail shoe that, while lacking in any whizz-bang reinventions of the wheel such as laces and tongue, nevertheless got me on long trail hikes without any shoe issues. I guess I have an issue with shoe marketing in the guise of fancy acronyms for soles, lacing and exotic what-not that deliver absolutely nothing.
