I have worn in other shoes and it fit great! I ordered about a size larger than I have worn in other shoes and it fit great! Most comfortable and durable shoe I've had!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. great kicks

Been using these shoes for a few months now. Great for running or wearing around town. Climashield is fantastic for wet/cold conditions and very comfortable footbed. Probably too hot for summer.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Poor Quality Lace System

I've been wearing the same, waterproof hiking shoes for years and wanted to try something new and these looked like they'd fit the bill. First off, these shoes run about 1/2 size small. Secondly, the lace system worked for about 3 weeks. Now, I'll tighten the laces and they immediately loosen up. When I'd wear them for walks I found myself constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, bending down and retightening the laces. I've grown to hate these shoes.

Unfortunately, my effort to branch out and try new products failed with these shoes and they've been relegated as very expensive garden and yard work shoes.

I would not buy these again.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Right Fit For Me

I've been using some version of this trail runner/hiker for the last 4-5 years. My feet have a pretty high arch and the Salomon's are basically the best fitting shoe in this class. This particular pair is an exact replacement for my current pair which have started to show wear in the same place all of my Salomon's have which is the reason for 4 starts instead of 5. On the top of shoe at the forefoot the meshy material starts to wear and eventually rips and this is consistent through all the Salomon's I've had. Also in these last two pair the the tops of the shoe from the heels to where the tongue basically is seems a bit higher and a bit too stiff initially but does soften up after some use. I don't do a lot of hiking in the rain but the Climashield helps keep out the cheat grass which is prevalent in the Boise foothills where I predominantly use these shoes. I don't actually run anymore and use these predominantly as a trail hiker. They have good traction and I like the speed lace system which has never broken of caused a problem. Bottom line is for me the fit is great and that's the most important feature of any footwear.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent shoe

Somewhat stiff out of the box but loosened up quickly in a couple days. Typical Solomon product. Good support and fairly light but not the lightest shoe. I usually wear a size 12 in most brands but I'm an 11.5 in solomons. Tested the waterproofing and it worked perfectly. Fits nice and even though I'm not in love with the lacing system of solomons these work really well and are not too long and tuck in nicely to the sleeve. Overall excellent shoe especially for the sale price

I'm happy with the shoes itself, but as for the laces, i'm very nervous and disappointed. I won't take them out on a far hike because i don't want to be stranded with a broken lace. It is so very thin and you can't just replace it. What does a guy do when one breaks? You can't just throw in a new lace. If i would have seen that, i would not have purchased them. Very poor design.

About Salomon

The legendary Salomon outdoor equipment company was founded more than 60 years ago in the French Alps by Francois Salomon. After developing the world’s first self-releasing ski binging in 1966, the company continued to grow and innovate new products. By the early 1990s, the brand had taken the wintersports market by storm with Salomon skis made using cap construction, a totally new innovation at the time. Salmon boots quickly became famous for their balance of performance and comfort on the slopes. By the turn of the century, Salomon snowboards were helping athletes push themselves in the park and powder. Today, Salomon continues to be an industry leader, with products that range from skis and snowboards to hiking boots and trail running shoes.
