Well made. Nubs are tall. Not for bare feet.

I have two of these step stools -- each a different height. I love them. They are easy to store, unfold, and use. Don't take up much space when stored. Much easier than pulling out a step ladder.

This stool is just as described. It is very stable, and the height is especially nice as I am only 5'. That it folds up so flat and is
a dream to transport makes it an outstanding addition to my home.

I bought this one to replace a Coleman 12" stool I had broken (and loved). I store these under the sink for quick access when I need to get into the upper shelves of my very tall kitchen cabinets. (I'm a shorty short.) It folds up just as flat as the Coleman and is 1" taller (taller is better for my purposes) and it comes in more colors. However, I really dislike the bumps (assuming they are there for traction?) on the top surface. They are so pronounced that while they would be great in an outdoorsy camping situation when you have slick muddy boots on to use it, they hurt my bare feet when I stand on it for longer than a few seconds.

This thing folds flat, takes up no room in our closet when folded, sets up with a flick of the wrist, and has a sturdy, even feel when standing.

  • “How tall is this?”
Asked by Cookie from New Jersey on 3/27/2018 5:52:47 AM
    • According to information listed under the product Specs-
      Dimensions: Folded: 19 x 14.5 x 1.75"; Open: 13 x 14.5 x 11.75" (HxWxD)

  • “Two tall Samsonite stools: this & Item #179NF differ more than top? (Feet? Size?)

(Not nit-picking, but want to make choice, rather than purchase-then-exchange. Hope someone can look at actual items.)

Questions prompted by (1) reviewer advising that this one is "not for bare feet" and (2) descriptions/specs vary from pictures, etc.

From picture of WHITE (this model), see the anti-slip feet. These feet present in both models, all colors?

Stated dimensions differ: Can we assume they're the same, except for the different styles of anti-slip features - Short, form nubs vs treads? (I believe Ssmsonite also has model, sometimes at STP, with flatter nubs, about size of M&Ms.) Or, are there additional differences (perhaps not obvious, unless side-by-side)?

Would this one be best for, say, car-washing and/or heavier-weight-capacity, etc, -- with the other for, say, 1
one-minute step-ups (e.g., get into vehicle, do indoor reaching)?

OR, are they identical, except for top-surface (i.e., Despite photos/specs, they are same size/rating - and each model has anti-slip FEET)?”
Asked by Sometimes-Urban Jane from Pacific on 3/13/2018 8:03:20 AM
    • The dimensions listed under the specs for both items are correct for the corresponding item. They all have anti-skid feet, it is just not easy to see in the images. The tops are correct for each item.

  • “What are the weight restrictions on the stool?”
Asked by Fred from NC on 2/5/2017 7:28:06 AM
    • Samsonite does not list weight restrictions for this item.
