Reviewed by Runner in MO from Missouri on Wednesday, November 20, 2013Firstly, I'm a strictly compression short running woman. I wanted to give another style a try, particularly because compression shorts get so hot in the summer. I love these. Don't let the inseam length fool you - they are the perfect length. Not too short where they're going to ride up, and not too long where they're close to your knees. Just a hair longer than mid-thigh. There is both elastic and a drawstring around the middle, which I love because nothing's going anywhere. Like the built in briefs because I feel like I'm being held in (briefs are a little longer than regular underwear) like the compression shorts I'm used to. Slight muffin top which happens sometimes - I'm 5'7" and 123#. I'm usually a little too big for the small and too small for the medium. The elastic is a little on the tight side, which might play a part, too.
Overall, a great short and a good foray for anyone trying to transition from compression into a looser running short!
Reviewed by Laura in Crozet from SoMd on Wednesday, August 28, 2013I originally bought these to have something to wear to soccer practice. I wanted the 5" inseam to cover a little more of my legs than my usual running shorts. The fit is perfect (size small for me), and the inner boy shorts are soft and lightweight. If you don't like them, you could easily cut them out. The side zip pocket is tiny, but overall it's a great short!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Renee from Durham, NC on Thursday, January 3, 2013I am a high-mileage runner and was looking for a new pair of shorts with built-in liner. I tried these in both S and M (I am 5'6", 125#) and didn't like either. I prefer short shorts for running, and these have a longer inseam and would not be comfortable on long runs. Good if you want more full coverage fit at the gym....and still good quality. Just not what I was looking for.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by MaryRuby from Boulder, CO on Monday, October 1, 2012The two reasons I bought these turned out to be the two reasons i gave these a low rating. One-the pocket-is very small, i am on call for work and was looking for shorts with a pocket for the pager(iknow what you are thinking...did she just say pager-yes belief it or not they still exist) anyway you will be lucky to store a house key in the very tiny pocket. Two-the liner- it is super thin fabric. after one wash the liner has snags. I will probably be cutting them out. Otherwise the rest of the short is great. I will be keeping them and probably be supplementing them with a purchase of some compression shorts.
- Best Uses: Running Gym
- Pros: Good length not to short
