I can't say enough about these shoes. I was nervous about ordering them since the shoe size stated 39 EU and the equivalent for US was 7 1/2, but I know I wear a size 8 in running shoes and I always thought that 39 was an 8. Well I'm happy that I ordered them anyway in a size 39 and they fit perfectly. I then looked at my climbing and hiking shoes and they were all 39s. The first real hike I used these on was a 14er (14,000 ft) mountain that was 40% to 60% grade up and down can crossing streams. Not once did these shoes give, the shoes proved themselves that day keeping my feet pain free and no slippage on crossing the streams. My toes did not slide to the end of the shoe coming downhill, which was great. I will say that if you have a wide foot then these might feel tight. My foot is not terribly narrow but it is slim and the heel fits snug (I usually have problems with most running shoes because there is not enough drop and I have a narrow heel). I highly recommend this shoe.

They fit very well, are comfortable, well cushioned wth support and are lightweight. They work well for around for in town exercise as well as on the trail. I liked them so much I bought a second pair as I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find them again when I wear the first pair out.

The shoe is a little more stiff and thicker than the barefoot shoes I usually wear, which is good because I wanted a pair of true summer hiking shoes and rocks hurt on the thinner shoes! The rise is excellent and the fit is good; I bought a half size larger because I need a wide shoe. Not so comfortable for hanging out.

I bought these shoes in green. I love the look of this shoe. They are super light weight and comfortable.

About Scarpa

Scarpa of Italy was literally "born in a barn" back in 1951. Founder Luigi Parisotto launched his footwear career in a small outbuilding, crafting handmade shoes for locals with a nearly fanatical attention to detail. After cultivating a flawless reputation among his patrons, Luigi eventually switched from work boots to mountaineering boots, and Scarpa boots were born. Today, more than six decades later, Scarpa climbing shoes and mountaineering boots remain among the very best in the sporting industry. By fusing modern technology with an old-world attention to craftsmanship, Scarpa shoes and boots provide superior comfort for adventure-seekers who demand the absolute best.
