WOW! Scarpa boots are still made in Italy (not China) and the quality shows in every aspect of all of their shoes and boots. Wide toe box and ready to go with minimal break in. Thank you Sierra Trading Post for carrying this exceptional brand of boots.

  • great boots

These boots are comfortable the first mile out. The waterproofing is great in the winter too and needs to be reapplied after about 6 months. The boots are sturdy but not too heavy, well padded. May be too warm for higher temps hiking. I have worn Scarpa's for years and my only gripe is that they come apart at the toe seam after about 4-5 months and I have to get them stitched. This last pair I bought the sole separated and I got that repaired as well. I do hike many miles a year though but would think the boots would last longer than a few months before repairs are needed. The comfort of the boot can't be surpassed though, so I will only buy Scarpa boots.

Let me add this note am a Birkenstock fan for the last 30 yrs, they broke my heart when they stop produceing hiking boots. This said. I wear a size 38 so I oredered a 38(7), The shoe was too small I returned the boot and got the 39(7.5) these fit perfect. The only change the foot bed. There is nothing wrong w their footbed but I like more support. Birkenstock footbed will work.

My feet stayed toasty warm in deep snow. A great medium priced boot that felt great the first time I put them on for a 8 mile hike in snow. The soles give excellent protection on rocky terrain and the cushioned ankle support really helped keep my feet positioned properly so that I didn't have to worry about rolling my ankles.

About Scarpa

Scarpa of Italy was literally "born in a barn" back in 1951. Founder Luigi Parisotto launched his footwear career in a small outbuilding, crafting handmade shoes for locals with a nearly fanatical attention to detail. After cultivating a flawless reputation among his patrons, Luigi eventually switched from work boots to mountaineering boots, and Scarpa boots were born. Today, more than six decades later, Scarpa climbing shoes and mountaineering boots remain among the very best in the sporting industry. By fusing modern technology with an old-world attention to craftsmanship, Scarpa shoes and boots provide superior comfort for adventure-seekers who demand the absolute best. Experience a higher elevation of footwear performance.
