More of a climbing shoe than a hiking shoe

These are cool looking shoes, but they are really a fairly technical approach shoe, *not* a walking or hiking shoe.

They are built like climbing shoes in that most of the rubber is at the *front* of the shoe. The thick rubber rands around the forefoot are practically begging to be jammed into a crack.

In contrast, there is no extra rubber in the heel strike zone like most hiking shoes would have. There are only the normal sized lugs. This will be a durability issue if you do a lot of walking in them.

Also, the toe box is very tight because of course it is. It's a climbing shoe! The to-the-toe lacing system is *designed* to make the toe box tight. That is why climbing shoes use this type of lacing. But it's not so useful for a walking/hiking shoe.

I tried two different sizes and neither one was comfortable to walk in because of that tight toe box. I returned them both.

Bottom line: if you like the style and if they fit you well, by all means get them. The quality is certainly there. Just be aware of what they are and what they are not. And they are definitely not a good walking or hiking shoe, because they are not designed to be.
