I have the Scarpa hiking boots and thougbt these would be good for light weight and lighter hikes. These felt great from the first time I put them break in period. Great shoes if you are a walker.

I love these shoes! I have very narrow feet and have a hard time finding hiking shoes that fit. These fit out of the box and were super comfortable. I wore these hiking in the smoky mountains and they held up great on slippery trails. They're also nice for hot weather hiking.

I'm giving this a 4 star rating because it is exactly as described... a lightweight shoe that embodies the principles of eco conscious living. It is very applaudable that it consists of almost entirely recycled materials. Who knows how the "Eco Pure additive" will play out in the life of this product and afterwards. What I can say is that these are truly lightweight shoes... to the point that they almost feel like moccasins. That's not a bad thing but I would never expect these to give me the support that I would need, even with a light backpack. The soles grip pretty well. I got them for general work shoes around my homestead in the country but I can't see wearing them when I'm doing chores that need a solid "footing".

I took these shoes as my sole pair of shoes on a 9 day trip. I spent the first 3 days in excruciating pain until my toes went permanently numb. One week later my big toes on both feet are still recovering and the shoes are getting recycled. They fit fine when I tried them on, but felt hard. I thought that feeling would go away, but it never did and I felt like I was continually walking on sidewalk.

Bought these shoes as an alternative to hiking boots. They are comfy and fit true to size. My foot is on the slightly wide side.

Scarpa boots usually fit me well and are comfortable. These were both uncomfortable and inflexible in fit. Had to return them even though I ordered one size up from my regular size.

  • “I am a little confused about the sizing here...I have other euro sized shoes(birkenstocks) that are a 39 and are slightly big for me. I wear a us 8.5, so based on the chart for these shoes that would be a 40??? That doesn't seem right. Perhaps it is a different scale? I am leaning towards 38.5....but don't want to go too small.”

  • “I wear a size 9 what size do I order in euro?”

    • If you hover over the "Sizes Available" with your mouse, a tap will appear and provide you with the correct numeric US sizing. I hope this helps.

About Scarpa

Scarpa of Italy was literally "born in a barn" back in 1951. Founder Luigi Parisotto launched his footwear career in a small outbuilding, crafting handmade shoes for locals with a nearly fanatical attention to detail. After cultivating a flawless reputation among his patrons, Luigi eventually switched from work boots to mountaineering boots, and Scarpa boots were born. Today, more than six decades later, Scarpa climbing shoes and mountaineering boots remain among the very best in the sporting industry. By fusing modern technology with an old-world attention to craftsmanship, Scarpa shoes and boots provide superior comfort for adventure-seekers who demand the absolute best. Experience a higher elevation of footwear performance.
