Not Impressed

Ive been looking for my first pair of mountaineering boots so my experience is not much but I have tried on a lot of boots and done side by side comparisons.
These boots have the rep of being wide fit. It is true. My foot rotates slightly in the wider toe box. I imaging this would lead to some sore feet. The wider box is not dramatic but side by side comparison you definitely feel the difference. Even with thick socks.
These boots flex more than some. It's supposed to have full ridgid shank but the front foot does flex a bit. More than others so depending on intended use may not be great.
The laces felt very thin and cheap. The ankle and tounge felt very thin and dit not offer a ton of support.
I did not like the styling at all if that matters.
Overall I think these boots selling point is the super gaitor. If that is a must and you have slightly wider feet these could be a good fit but if not I would shop around.
