Verified Buyer Reviewed by PuddleSplasherPDX from Portland, OR on Monday, April 3, 2017I hunted high and low and tried two pairs of boots before landing on these. I chose to get the 41, even though I'm typically a size 9 1/2. I love that these can be resoled, and have a classic look to them. The ankle padding is very good, and I had to do very little breaking in before wearing them for 20 miles of hiking over two days in Utah. I have found that a lot of ups and downs will loosen the lacing around the ankle so I'll stop to retighten as needed. Still great boots!
Reviewed by Hawaii Hiker from Hawaii on Tuesday, February 28, 2017These are not heavy duty boots. But they are leather boots that are very comfortable (I have a wide foot.) The sole is pretty flexible. There is lots of cushioning around the back of the foot and the ankle. They are light weight. I am about a 7.5. I ordered a 39 and a 39.5. The 39's were the right size. They have room in the toes box and my toes will not touch the end when hiking down hills. These will be good for day hiking trips.
Reviewed by Love to hike from Kentucky on Thursday, February 16, 2017I wanted to fall in love with these boots. I wore them around the house several times to break them in before I went hiking in them. Finally got to do a day hike on very hilly trails. Every step down hill caused my toes to slide to the end of the boots. I tried everything to tighten the laces enough to keep this from happening, but it continued. If I had hiked with these on an extended back country hike that included lots of hills, there's not doubt that I would have had serious issues with loosing a couple of toenails.
