5.0 out of 5 stars. I am wearing them

These are so comfortable right out of the box. I need toe room and they have it. Well made with great arch support and the soles are very rugged.

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Not a great shoe

This shoe was a disappointment. Too wide in both the toe and the heel, stiff, no cushioning. For $100 I expected at least a nice cushy footbed.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Love these so much I bought them twice!

Sturdy, nice toe room, waterproof and subtle in appearance. I bought a second pair--this quality and this price don't often meet up!
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Nearly Perfect

I have been searching for a new pair of hiking shoes for a trip to New Zealand. I've tried several different brands and these, by far, came the closest to perfection -- with one exception. I usually wear a 7 1/2 W. Since some reviews said the shoes ran a 1/2 size too big, I ordered both a size 38 and a size 39. Both shoes were wide enough in the toebox and had great arch support. They were very well made and attractive for a hiking shoe, with the features needed (rugged lug sole and GoreTex waterproof lining). After trying on both pair, I decided the size 39 was the better fit in terms of length and I wouldn't have to worry about my toes rubbing against the front of the shoe on downhill trails. However, both sizes were too wide in the heel. There was too much slippage in the heel, and that would have created a blister zone for me. With much regret, I returned both pairs and will continue my search -- but these will be the quality standard against which I evaluate all others.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Glad to have these Scarpas

Sturdy, comfortable and so far, waterproof. Just what I need for winter hikes on the north Oregon coast. True to size. I may order a second pair because it's not easy to find this quality at this price.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable right out of the box.

I first wore these on rocky and muddy trails. They felt light and supportive and gripped well; the toe box was wide to accommodate my wide feet. My feet were not tired after hiking in these for a couple of hours. I decided to wear these for the duration of my vacation because they were so comfortable, instead of switching to my everyday walking/hike shoe.
