When I got them the foam lining put me off. When I tried them on without ski sock the liner was uncomfortable. With a ski sock no problem and the boot fits really well and performs really well which is the point!

I bought these a few weeks ago as a second set of boots for travel so I don't have to lug my boots from my primary ski location. This is my third set of boots. I started with Garmont Garas some 15 years ago, my next set and primary set are Crispi XPs, and then the T1 Race. These are by far the stiffer of the three. You definitely have to wrestle with them to get them on. As far as fit, my foot is wider in the toe box and smaller in the heel area. I am size 11 (29 Mondo) and prefer wide widths on my street shoes. For me, these boots are fine in the toe box, but the back of the boot seems to have less volume and they are squeezing my ankle to the point of constant pain. I skied two days with them, but they squeezed my ankle the whole time. Nine hours of pain over two days. I have to say though I was impressed with the carving power and control I had with these boots. I spend most of my time in the bumps and I had no problem making short radius turns. To be fair on the comments on the fit, I have not taken these boots to have the liners heated and formed to my foot. I plan on doing this tomorrow at my local ski shop. If I can get the pressure relieved from my ankle, these boots will be as nice as my Crispi XPs. If you prefer a softer boot like the Garas, you will probably not like these. You definitely have to put more effort to work them.

Upgraded from old T1's. This is an awesome boot for the right skier. Boot is very stiff (I am 6'2, 200lb) and had no trouble with it after removing the upper velcro strap (totally unnecessary for me). Great for aggressive tele skiing on lift served terrain. It does not have a "walk" feature so I would not recommend for touring (kept the old T1's for that). Molding the inner liners (have to be heated) can be a little challenging at home but there are plenty of "how to" on line. Amazing control and typical Scarpa quality and comfort (if you have average feet like mine - typically a 95mm last). Grab them before they're all gone.

My wife ordered these boots and they did not work for her. They are truly designed as race boots, so some features should be considered. Of course, the boots are stiff. They will also be too tall and tight for typical feminine calves. If you have skinny and/or high calves, you should be ok. The boots do not have a walk mode, so beware if you are planning on skinning in the. My opinion is that the stiff shell, heavier weight, and lack of a walk mode makes them not a great choice for the back country but they are ideally suited for charging hard in lift-accessed terrain.

These are definitely a stiffer boot compared to my aging T2's, but in a good way. Plus, the quality of a Scarpa's will last. These boots may become stinky family heirlooms.
