Verified Buyer Reviewed by Itchycow from Nagano, Japan on Thursday, May 8, 2014Good quality shoe for a first climbing shoe. My daughter had been using the shoes provided by the gym so I got her these and she loves them. I think she feels more confident wearing them as well so is challenging more (not sure if that's such a good thing though)!
Reviewed by jordan peters from IN/soon to be CO on Saturday, November 30, 2013I bought these shoes for my wife, who is a brand new climber. I was very impressed with them. They are very rigid, have vibram soles, and have an awesome edge to grab those tiny holds. Sizing chart is good, quality is outrageous for the price. I would put these up against any shoe out there. Would recommend for any skill level climber.
Reviewed by Arik from Israel on Tuesday, April 23, 2013great price , good for beginners a bit slippery , good point , good heel
Reviewed by Bucky from Santa Rosa, California on Saturday, August 11, 2012I bought these shoes because they were the cheapest ones at Sierratradigpost.com so that I could start getting into climbing in March of 2012. 5 months later they have helped me summit several places in the Cathedral Spires, Durrance Crack up Devil's Tower, Owen Spalding up the Grand Teton and the Southwest buttress of Pingora in the Wind River range. I have done some bouldering as well as indoor climbing. They have never slipped on me and I never have to think about my feet when I am focusing on my next move. These shoes hold great! I also have never had a problem with them hurting my toes. Most other people are always taking their shoes off between pitches, but I have found these to be comfortable enough to leave on for all day climbs. For the beginner and adventurous climber these are an incredible deal for a reliable shoe. Now you just need to buy them and go out there and climb!

“These pulled up in the kids shoes. My son is wearing a size 3 he is 8 years old and is quickly approaching a sz 4 in youth. How do the women's euro sizes convert?”
A Euro 36 is a youth size 4 and Euro 35 is a youth 3.5. according to the chart on our printable Brannock device. http://s.stpost.com/m/img/guides/shoesizingguides/Kids-Brannock.pdf
“my partner wear 39 size gym shoes made from saltic and fit to US 7 us hi-tec trail lynx hiking boots. im consider buying her own but the only size availabe is 37 as it say US 6. is there any possilbility this will fit her or does STP will order new stock for 37 and above.. thanks”
Size 7 is the equivalent of 37 1/2, so those shoes would be a little tight, better to order the larger size.
“Our gym rents unisex Evolvs, and I wear a size 9 or 9.5 (depending on how ridiculously stretched out they are), and my running shoes are a women's size 10. Based on the reviews I've read, I think ordering the Thunders in a size 10 should still be a snug fit. Does that sound about right? I'm just worried about them stretching out too much!”
A size 9 is a Euro 40.5 so I would recommendgetting that or a 41. If your normal shoe size is a 10 they will be too roomy.
“How does the women's thunder differ from the men's? Can you please give me specific measurements (heel, toe) and the sizing scale comparison (i.e. I am an 8 in women's, what would this be in men's?)”
Men's and women's shoes are different in the fact that the women's shoe is narrower. A men's shoe is 1 1/2 sizes smaller than a woman's. So an 8 would be a 6.5 Mens.
“how is the scarpa thunder climbing shoe fit is it running small size?.. I ordered the scarpa feroce size 39 and it was too small.”
They will be snug at first, but will loosen up with time. I would order a half size up from your normal size though to fit comfortably.
