I bought these shoes for my wife in size 8 (US women's) and she normally wears a 7.5 street shoe. Wasn't sure what my fit was for Scarpa, but I wear a 37 in every pair of La Sportiva climbing shoes I've tried on, and have even sized down to a 36.5 when I want a really tight fit. Ordered these in a 37 and couldn't even get my foot in. They didn't look super down-turned to me, but seemed like they'd be solid shoes if only they fit.

The reason these aren't a 5-star though is because of the heal: while they do fit otherwise the heal is a little loose on the sides but for the price we're not going to return them.

I bought these because the velcro on my other sport climbing/bouldering shoes was not sticking any more. I have other Scarpas and I find their sizing very inconsistent. I managed to order the correct size in these on the first try which was great (I wear 36 katana/miura , 36.5 scarpa force... I bought these in 37.5). They do come up pretty high on my ankles (i.e. are not really women's specific - but almost no climbing shoes are actually cut different for women except evolv - at least as far as I can tell); but they perform very well. They also fit really well around my toes (I do not have morten's toe) and the leather doesn't seem to want to bunch up above the toes - which is a problem in my miuras.

Now that I've found these I'm a bit sad they are discontinued.

My normal size is a 7, I already got the tip from my friend to order them a bit larger, but they are still too small. My toes won't even manage to stay straight. I regret buying them as now I also have the burden of returning them.

About Scarpa

Scarpa of Italy was literally "born in a barn" back in 1951. Founder Luigi Parisotto launched his footwear career in a small outbuilding, crafting handmade shoes for locals with a nearly fanatical attention to detail. After cultivating a flawless reputation among his patrons, Luigi eventually switched from work boots to mountaineering boots, and Scarpa boots were born. Today, more than six decades later, Scarpa climbing shoes and mountaineering boots remain among the very best in the sporting industry. By fusing modern technology with an old-world attention to craftsmanship, Scarpa shoes and boots provide superior comfort for adventure-seekers who demand the absolute best. Experience a higher elevation of footwear performance.
