About Scientific Anglers Mastery Trout Taper Fly Line - Floating, Textured, 90’
Closeouts. Trout have a good eye, so thinner, camouflaged line is ideal. The Scientific Anglers Mastery Trout Taper fly line works great for delicate presentations and convincing suspicious trout to take the bait.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by Still Hiking from New Mexico on Monday, October 19, 2015I've used SA's Textured Mastery line on a six weight, and liked its cast ability, so with STP's bargain pricing, its a good deal for my 5 weight. The line is easy to cast and mend, and the willow color works for all waters. Great line for the money.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by AT Hiker in training from Virginia on Thursday, October 15, 2015STP prices are competitive and you know what you get with the Scientific Anglers brand. You cannot beat the price at any outdoor or box store. With the STP email specials you can eliminate or minimize shipping charges. For new fly fisher people consider a line slightly heavier than the recommended weight of your rod and it will be more forgiving, particularly if you are using an entry level fly fishing rod.

“I recently purchased this product, which end goes to the reel? One end has no loop (lighter end) and the other has a loop (darker end).
Thank you. (P.S. I can't get any response from SA, which on their website it states that both ends have a loop)
The one I received from STP did have a loop on both ends. However, it doesn't make much of a difference. The lighter end (in your case, the one without the loop) goes to your backing. You can tie it on with a nail knot. The looped end (which is darker and should be thicker) connects to your leader. Some people like to cut the front loop off and tie their leader on with a nail knot, but it is just a personal preference issue. Personally, I like to have that loop so that changing out leaders is quick and easy.
