Since I've bought this, I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I did load it onto my reel and the line seems very high quality. I did give it a couple of practice swings and noticed that it makes a zipping noise as others have said. It won't bother me but just be mindful of it. I gave it 5 stars for now because there is nothing wrong with it. Once I make a trip out on the water, I might come back and re-review it.

I used this line (8wt) yesterday for bass and could not ask for a better line. It lays out large bushy flies with ease, floats high and had far less tangles than my other line I used for bass fishing. When I did get a tangle it came out quickly usually with just a tug on the line. If you need to replace a fly line give the Sharkskin line a try you can't beat the price at S.T.P.

I have read many reviews and talked to people that gave high ratings using the sharkskin line but could not justify the high retail price, until S.T.P. offered it at closeout for less than half price. The line is very slick, casts great and best of all no tangles. I was so impressed with the sharkskin line I ordered two other line weights. The only reason for the four stars is the bright colors used in this line as well as other line manufactures. I don't know what the idea is behind the bright fly line colors now days except for visibility on dark days. I am just thankful for Rit die to solve the issue. If you are in need of replacing old warn out fly lines, S.T.P. is the place with the best price.
