Scuds work well in streams where they live.

I use scuds in flowing water where they exist. The fish seem to have no color preference so I use a range of colors from grey to pink. Scuds work well in streams where they live.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Moosaki from WV/PA/MD/VA on Thursday, July 30, 2015I use scuds in flowing water where they exist. The fish seem to have no color preference so I use a range of colors from grey to pink. I have caught Rainbows, Golden Rainbows, Brook, Brown and Palomino Trout on them. I drift them like a nymph with a slight stripping motion. The Poorhouse Spring Creek I frequently fish is loaded with these little freshwater crustaceans and the fish regularly feed on them. I use #18 & 20 sized hooks. They work best on light tippet so you will need plenty of them. They are well tied.

Scuds with material to spareReviewed by FishininnsunnyCA from CA on Wednesday, October 23, 2013Scuds are tied to size but somewhat heavy on the material for the legs and tail. The ones I got were more heavily dressed than the ones shown in the pics. I will thin out the patterns a bit with scissors or flail them around to thin or break up some of the excess material.
nice fly, seems well tied, looks great.Reviewed by jg from colorado on Tuesday, October 1, 2013these flies are well tied with quality materials, but have not tried on the river yet.
Very GoodReviewed by Jerry Wayne Dixon from Kentucky on Tuesday, October 1, 2013...well crafted...out of dozens, very consistent in design...have yet to put it into action but expect favorable results...if any alteration, would like option of barbless hooks.
Good design and nice materialReviewed by Jim, the Crazy Winter Fly Fisher from Missouri on Monday, August 26, 2013Very nicely tied, not too much material to prevent hooking the fish, but enough to resemble a real scud.
Great material and workmanshipReviewed by Jim, the Crazy Winter Fly Fisher from Missouri on Wednesday, August 21, 2013Very fishy!
