I use it as a backpack for transporting camping gear - 2 man tent, two sleeping pads, two sleeping bags - when flying to where I'll start my tour and as a drybag which sits on top of my rear panniers while touring. It is the right size to work as a large carryon and, with camping gear in it, quite c... Read More

Well made and priced right. This bag kept my gear dry and was easily hauled short distances.

I live in Oregon and ride my motorcycles, four different ones, all year round and this is exactly what I wanted. Its a great size, big enough to fit my laptop bag, suit coat, and lunchbox but also small enough that it isn't unmanageable; plus it really is waterproof!

Good size bag. Holds a lot of stuff. I think the shoulder straps are a little flimsy, but I'm not carrying it for miles and miles. It gives me good hands free ability while I'm carry the kayak and paddle and fishing poles, and life jackets, and tackle box and cooler, and everything else to the river. Like it alot.

This medium size is good for maybe 2 - 3 sleeping bags. We also bought the large size dry bag for tent and other gear and surprisingly, this bag's fabric is thicker and more plasticky than the large bag. It is not clear whether it will last longer though. This medium size is slightly bigger than an average day pack but you can use it as one in a pinch. Note, if you have a half-empty bag, you will not have a tight seal at the rolled up opening as the fold will loosen no matter how tightly you buckle it in. A fully filled bag will create a "bottom" to allow the folded opening to lay flat and be buckled properly. This is an inexpensive waterproof bag that I plan to use on day trips on my kayak.

This looks and feels like an extremely durable product.
The shoulder straps could have more padding and a abdominal strap would be beneficial.
After the top is folded down (Like most Waterproof Bags) to seal the bag, there is still ample room.
The bag will easily accommodate 4 towels, a change of clothes (for 2 people) and additional accessories (Phone, camera, small purse, etc).

Occasionally we are able to reorder a product, but closeout items are typically unable to be reordered. We suggest signing up for the My Updates as the best way to monitor incoming products. • “What is its volume in litres? I used a converter but the results shows 63 L. It seems too big to use and to be called medium. Also answers to above questions said it's suitable for 12 yr old. So I'm confused about its size. Thank you.”
Asked by MsY from Oregon on 2/5/2016 5:45:00 AM
    • It's about the size of a medium duffle bag. Slightly understuffed it could fit in an overhead bin. I agree, it's not 63L! It is truly waterproof. The handles will hold it, but not the backpack straps. Backpack straps will be fine for clothing and a few small devices, but not for lots of weight such as food + multiple cameras.

    • It might be too big for a 12 year. I got it for my wife and I think it is a good size for her and she is about 5 foot 2 inches. I think medium is the correct estimate. I have seen bags listed as large that are over 100L.

    • This is Seattle Sports medium for this bag. It is approximately 63L.
Answered on 2/5/2016 9:24:32 AM by Product Specialist Greg from Sierra Trading Post
    • The volume is indeed 63 litres if you stand it on the bottom, hold it up and leave it open. The entire volume is about 63 liters. But you need to close it to make it waterproof and when you do, as you roll it down to secure it the volume is less. Every time you roll the bag to secure it and make it waterproof with its 4 attached clips, the bag is reduced in size. If the bag is rolled down to the max the clips will secure it, the volume is about 40 liters. A very durable daypack size. You can also squeeze the air out if you have soft items like clothing and then roll it up and the bag seems even smaller. It is a great bag and a great buy. I think you will like it. Strong. Waterproof. Adjustable.

  • “Will this bag fit a towel for the beach?”
Asked by Megan from Brooklyn on 9/19/2014 8:33:40 PM
    • That would all depend on the size of the towel that is being used. According to the product overview above:
      Length: 25"
      Diameter: 14"
      Capacity: 3848
Answered on 9/24/2014 6:02:21 PM by Product Specialist Greg from Company Headquarters
    • Absolutely....! It's about the size of an extra large stuff-sack sleeping bag. I bet you could get at least 2, mebbe 3 beach towels in there. We bought 2 of them for a trip through the Subway in Zion NP, and we had a ton of stuff in there. We also used it as a flotation device, to help a few of our timid swimmers across some of the pools. Great bag!

Sorry about the delayed response - I rarely check this email.

    • Both. The top of the bag rolls over 2-8 times and is then buckled down the sides AND over the front (4 buckles).
