Camera Saver

My wife and I were in a double kayak on the Pere Marquette river. We had extra clothes and towels and my Nikon camera in the dry bag. The river was running fast and the current was strong, we got swept into some fallen tree limbs and the kayak overturned. My first fear was that my wife was not coming up after being trapped in the kayak. When she finally surfaced my second fear set in, which was my $1200 camera was ruined. After getting the kayak beached and emptied I was relieved to find everything in my Seattle Sports Roll Top Duffel bag was dry. Nothing in there was wet or even damp. I'm glad I made this purchase before this trip. The bag is a little bigger than what I expected but I think that was to my advantage because with the extra room in the bag it became buoyant and was floating on the water tethered to the overturned kayak. The quality of the bag is good and that's because it was made right here in the USA, and the price was reasonable. I have since purchased from STP two more smaller Seattle Sports dry bags for our next upcoming trip on the Fever river.
