About SeaVees 02/60 7-Eye Trail Boots - Leather (For Women)

Closeouts. Simply styled, the Seavees 02/60 7-Eye Trail boots take their inspiration from boots worn at the 1960 Squaw Valley Winter Olympics. With a handstitched moc toe and oiled rawhide laces, this leather boot is infused with vintage charm and provides ultimate comfort, too, thanks to the generously cushioned footbed and light, crepe rubber outsole.

Yet to tell if they are water-resistant. I bought these shoes as a college student in a town with bad winters and needed something I could trek up to campus with that wasn't an ugly hiking boot. These should do the trick :)

These are exactly as described-- a vintage style, with thick, high quality leather and crepe sole. However, I had a terrible time getting my feet into them, as the unlined leather grabbed my socks and wouldn't let them slide in! And while I've always resented lace-up boots which also have a zipper (Why have the laces? I always think), in this case I would've preferred that. You really have to pull the laces VERY loose all the way down to get a socked foot into them, and unless you can wear a thick sock in this kind of boot, why have them at all? I wear a 38 (lifelong 7, but more and more a 7.5 these days), and the 7.5 was fine once I got my foot in, but without a lot of spare room for a thick sock. If you're looking for a more cushioned, supportive footbed, these are not for you...and not a lot of spare room for an extra insole. I returned them.
