Smokin deal!Reviewed by Colin from Oregon on Monday, March 26, 2018This is up there as quite possibly the best deal I've ever had from STP!
I was clipped in for almost 20 years before going to flats for the past 3 years. I ride 5-7 days a week, everything from enduro style shuttling to multi day epics here in the PNW. Though I love my flats and 5.10's but there are some trails where clipping in is faster so I got these shoes with Crank Brothers Enduro pedals. Really happy with this setup as it's very easy to get in and out, provide a stable platform, they are comfortable and they grip really well when I do have the rare miss of clipping in. It wasn't rare with any of my previous clipless pedals but with the channel guiding the cleat in it makes it so I'm back in effortlessly.
Shimano put a lot of thought into these and really nailed it. No, the rubber is nowhere near as sticky at the Stealth rubber of your 5.10's but that's actually a good thing as if it were you wouldn't be able to get in, and especially out, nearly so easily. The "channel" for the cleat is actually ingenious, I can't believe nobody has thought of that before! Fit is pretty standard though I wish the heel cup was a bit narrower as I have a wide-ish forefoot and narrow heel but it's not a big deal as the strap holds me in place quite well without having to cinch it down too much. I can't comment on durability but they seem as well made as any of the other high end Shimano shoes so I expect to get 2-3 seasons out of them. Tread at the front makes hike a bikes fine as long as it isn't muddy.
Great shoes for a great priceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Eric from Virginia on Monday, February 26, 2018I love these things! The channel for the cleat is long enough that I can mount it under the ball of my foot and still have enough room on the sole to ride Flats if I want.
The fit is fantastic, they are comfortable for multi-hour rides, and the flaps keep the laces secure and out of the way
