Most Helpful 4-Star Review
Reviewed by Copatl from Atlanta on Friday, November 11, 2016This is a bigger fit bag which is what I wanted. I am a stomach/side sleeper and this seems to be perfect for that. Just roomy enough for me to flail the legs a bit and move my arms inside the bag up to my head or down to my waist. The hood is fantastic. It fits like a hoody and is very comfortable. It allows you to change positions but never get tagled up in the bag. Good choice for restless sleepers.
Some concerns are for starters the arm slots. Convenient when upright but vert difficult to use when lying flat. Similar to trying to take your shirt off while lying down. Not easy while sleeping. Anothe concern is the draft flaps. Very easy to knock out of primary position. On a very cold night this could be an issue to wake up to your shoulder freezing.
I haven't tested in the field so I can't review it's temp rating. I mentioned the flaps being possible cold spots but unknown. I think if you want a super warm winter bag there is better but if you are like me and are a picky sleeper this is a good choice.

“The comparison of specs between this 5 deg bag and the very similar SD Mobile Mummy 15 deg bag (Item#163HW) makes no sense to me. The other bag is smaller in length and girth than this one, and that one has 4 oz. more of the same rated down filling. If that is correct the other bag should have more loft, more insulation, and therefore a colder temperature rating, not warmer. Is the temperature rating for the other bag for women, for whom the EN Standard assumes a higher sensitivity to cold? If so, then the specs for that bag should say it is for women, and give the equivalent EN rating for men, more like 0 deg. If not, then what is wrong with these specs, or my logic? ”
