If you are seeking a light tent that also has short poles when folded up so you can stick it in a bag as small as a daypack, this is the tent for you! It also happens to be quite light.

The immense amount of mesh is great for the many days of warm weather we face in the south. The rainfly keeps it from being too cold the rest of the year.

They mean it when they call this a 2 person tent - you're not gonna get anything but two people in it. My petite wife and my big self fill this thing up. But I can fit a large plus a regular-sized sleeping pad without overlapping. It's not quite tall enough for me to sit up without ducking or bumping the roof. I'm 6'2" tall, and I do find my head and/or my feet brushing the edges of the tent when I lay on my back. (Side sleeping is no problemo.)

None of these things are deal killers though - this is a tent for backpacking efficiency with just enough functionality. When I want space, I use my rather heavy but large and tall Viperine 3 person tent!

Overall quality and engineering are high. The pole system is very light for the amount of room it creates. Worth noting - the sides of the tent at the floor are not stretched tight by the poles. Once I put the sleeping pads inside, it's not a problem.

Now that I've lived with this tent a bit, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I really do love this tent but…it will probably too small for most people. I'm 5'10" and 165 pounds. This tent would be a very tight fit for two people my size. I knew this when I bought it and I don't mind. If you are any taller than 5'10", I would go with the XL version. I like how well it is constructed (Sierra Designs quality) and the light weight of the tent. Almost the same tent as the Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 2 but just a wee bit smaller. I have no regrets and look forward to getting many years of use out of this tent. This is my 2nd Sierra Designs tent and probably will not be my last!
