Awesome everyday kettle

This looked like a deal when I saw it online. I was looking for something this size for use as my main pot. It fits the bill perfectly. I've used it for soups, chilis, chorba, marinaras, pasta, scalloped potatoes, and quick stews. It does them all. I'm still exploring.

I was a bit disappointed when I first saw that it has an aluminum wafer on the bottom rather than a laminated aluminum layer. I shouldn't have been. It works as well at dispelling hot spots as any stainless pot I've used, and the nonstick coating keeps the bottom free of sticking and burning. The handles do NOT heat up; a very pleasant bonus. The lid fits beautifully and is glass, so you can see what's going on inside. It's great as kitchen jewelry and cleans up easily and nicely. DO NOT use metal utensils. They will eventually ruin the non stick coating. It should work on just about any type of cooking surface; I can affirm it works excellently over gas.

Be cautious about overheating. It might take less heat than you are accustomed to using. It seems to be very efficient. I've seen tests where wafer type pots can be destroyed when left empty over high heat. Don't let that happen to you. It will not only ruin your pot, it is extremely dangerous.

The listing says this is made in Germany. I couldn't find anything listing the country of origin, but frankly, I don't care. It works great.
