Simms guide rain jacket.Reviewed by Mighty Ox from Colorado on Monday, May 14, 2018It's good, true to size, recommend to the next buyer. However, I would like to have a gray or dark army green instead.
Can’t go wrong hereVerified Buyer Reviewed by Noodles from Michigan on Saturday, May 5, 2018For the price, you can’t go wrong with this Simms product. I’m 6’2”, 205 and the XL I ordered fit perfect. I haven’t had it in the field but can’t imagine Simms putting anything out there that won’t do as it should.

Great detailsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Tom from Arizona on Monday, March 5, 2018If you do not fly fish there is no need for this jacket. If you do - it has many helpful fly-fishing specific features and can double as a rain jacket for other uses - even a pub crawl as it looks good. It looks good but if you want something lightweight and pack-able - there are better choices - but for a day on the river - hard to beat. Fits true to size and has room for fleece underneath. It's your second jacket not your first.

Great jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Boonecat from NC Mountains on Thursday, January 5, 2017So, I only gave 4 stars because, although I have fished in the jacket a couple of times now, it wasn't raining that hard any of those time. It was cold and misty but not really raining. I'm sure it will work well in a downpour but so far I haven't had to test that. Here is what I do know. The jacket is really stiff initially but softens up over time, the hood fits well and isn't so big that it impedes vision. The velcro flap in your sleeve does keep water from running down your arm after your hands get wet and you start casting again. That alone almost makes this jacket worth the price. The built in retractors are a good idea and I might use them at some point but most of my stuff is already set up on my pack the way I like it and so I doubt they will see much use. They also aren't really that long so not sure if they'll stretch over time. I'm 6'2 215 and got the double xl cause that was what they had. For me the jacket isn't too large and will allow for adequate layering underneath if warranted. Plus with it being a double XL it doesn't seem as short and I would be able to wear it for other things if the weather was nasty. Very pleased with the jacket and would recommend it to anyone.

“What is this color? Photo color = honey brown ,
information = army green .
What is real color?”
“Is this the gore Tex "r" or gore Tex pro material”
I answered the question once but didn't sign in to send the answer and it didn't like that so will try again. In a nutshell this jacket is NOT... the Pro grade Gore Tex. My daughter asked me the same question about the grade of Gore Tex. She has several Arcteryx jackets and is pretty gear hip to whats going on with gear. Those jackets are in excess of $400 ot $500 and I just cannot justify that amount of money for the fishing jacket. I believe even the orange jacket- the Guide 3 Simms jacket is not Prograde Gore Tex. This jacket is a very thick Gore Tex and I have had probably 8 or more Gore Tex jackets in the last maybe 30 years and this is probably the thickest I can remember including the Arcyteryx jacket- Some of their Beta jackets are very thick but I don't believe they are Pro Grade. Hope this helps.
