You can't miss with Smartwool

Smartwool. Insulates even when wet / sweaty. I have worn this under my gore-Tex Arcteryx rainjacket in sub freezing 0-10 degree F temps and have been warm, even a little bit hot. It is a bit heavier than some of the synthetics and lacks a little in compressibility as compared to down, but with the quality that it insulates when wet, it is well worth its weight in the backpack. I swear by smartwool and live by the Mantra "Cotton Kills." It is true to fit and is a bit of a pain in that you should wash it in cold water, but the positives far outweigh the negatives.
