I am always nervous purchasing these types of items without trying them on, as I am 6'3" 275. This is finally a xxl article of clothing that is actually xxl. This shirt is incredibly comfortable. I am 5'8, 210lbs with a 45in chest and I got both the large and extra large. I kept the XL for a loose fit. I have two other long sleeve lightweight smartwool shirts and a tanktop. I got two of them in size L for a tighter fit as base layers and two in XL for comfort and to wear over other clothing.

The 150 weight on this shirt makes it a very thin, comfortable and versatile shirt. I use it both for exercising and as casual wear.

I have other colors of this shirt in the XL I like the XL short-sleeved version, but the sleeves are too loose in the long-sleeved version of the shirt. The L is good: the merino drapes beautifully without clinging, and the sleeves fit better. I can machine dry the fabric if I'm in a hurry, and it doesn't damage the shirt visibly, though I usually let it air dry. It's a good shirt. I just wish Smartwool made clothes that fit big women, or made brighter colors for men!

Got this on sale for my husband in the red. He likes it, says the weight is nice and light, yet warm for under a cotton or flannel shirt. Color is actually a darkish red that results from thin lines of red and grey-brown, so not vivid.
