They really do rustle, and feel strange. Pity to do that to otherwise outstanding merino wool. The rest of the fabric/construction is excellent, but the plastic fabric ruined it for me, so I reluctantly sent it back.

Soft, not scratchy. Even the hood makes more sense than I thought, well shaped and rain repellent. True to size -- I don't like tight clothes, so bought a small (wear a size 4) and I have just enough (a small amount of) extra room to be comfortable. Good buy.
