Thick sole, medium shin, light cushion elsewhere

This sock has an incredibly comfortable foot area. The sole is pretty thick for a lightweight sock. My first impression when I took it out of the package and squeezed the bottom of the foot was that there must be some sort of gel in there for it to feel the way it did. It must be some really tightly knot yarn. Whatever it is, it make the sole very comfortable.

The top of the sock, by the calf, felt too tight. I skied the whole day with them and my feet felt warm. With the ski boots tightened up, I didn't notice the tight calf anymore, but as soon as I took the boots off, I couldn't wait to take the sock off as well. I don't know if they're supposed to be tight to work as a compression sock of sorts, but I took off a star for that reason.

Also, putting shoes and boots on and off with these socks tends to push or pull the sock around quite a bit. It didn't make the sock feel bunched up or uncomfortable though so I don't take points off for that, but I would definitely prefer it to stay put a bit more than it does.

These are my first ski socks and I was happy with the comfort and warmth they provided while skiing so I'm very happy with them.
