Verified Buyer Reviewed by Wheeler Canyon Ted from Ventura CA on Sunday, January 24, 2016I usually love most Smartwool products but I was a little disappointed in this vest and sent it back. The front looks great and is probably very functional facing into wind or cold conditions as it is fairly thickly insulated, but the back and side panels are very thin stretchy material. Any wind from the rear would blow right through it and it would not keep your back very warm. The elastic strap waiste is sewn into the bottom and is not adjustable, and this along with the side and rear panel look like they would quickly stretch out in a short period of time. However, the thin panel material might be good to use as a running or hiking vest where your back would stay cool and allow sweat to evaporate out of your back. And lastly, the hand pockets have no zippers so there is no way to secure anything in them. I have a regular Smartwool PHD vest that I love and thought this would be similar, but this one is not for me.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Terrapin from East Bay on Wednesday, January 6, 2016my husband wanted a vest without the real "vesty" look. Bought it black. Completely fit the bill. Thin, warm, inconspicouso.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by JD bits from Seattle on Wednesday, December 23, 2015This is a great vest for layering and wearing solo. The front panels and thermo fill create a great vest for biking to cut the wind.
The weight is great and adds more warmth than expected.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Grey1030 from Louisiana on Sunday, December 20, 2015This vest is very sharp looking. It lies pretty flat but looks very warm. It has a nice weight to it.
Reviewed by NoClue! from Chicago on Friday, December 4, 2015This thing is just good, hugs you, stops the wind in front, breathes in the back. Makes you want go for a frosty run. Not quite as sleek as the model pictured, i think there might be a chip clip holding some of the material in back, wink, wink. Don't know if its important to you or not but chicks dig it.............just saying.
