could not detect any "defects" other than stamped irregular on the bottom... ribbed under arch, not much cushion anyplace, the heel "collar" works fine to keep heel of sock above shoe edge. Lighter overall weight than prior styles I have from Smartwool but these will work fine for me (am not a runner).

As always, Smartwool are the best. I have yet to find socks that I like better.

I bought these socks because I wanted to have some very thin socks to wear with my athletic shoes. The socks ARE very thin and work well with my shoes, however, these socks are NOT soft like other smartwool socks I have. They are kind of scratchy and the seams are very noticeable, especially in the heel area. If I had purchased them at full price, I would have returned them.

I find these a little bit shorter than I like. I wonder if eventually they will start to slip.

I Have run in these sock twice sense i got them. they seem to be fine, i love the tight arch suport through the middle of the sock they are snug and well fitted. Tho A little biger then i would like i usually like my socks to strech a bit more when i put them on but i am i size six so if ur feet are any bigger they will be great. They are not so big they buch at all. The stiching in the toe is a little weird and bulky in the inside but it hasent seemed to afect their comfort when i run in them. over all i would give them a 7.

  • “What does 2nds mean?”
Asked by linda from Bklyn, NY on 12/20/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • • 2nds: Minor cosmetic blemishes or irregulars which do not affect the fit, performance, or longevity of the item. Label is usually clipped by the manufacturer. A small flaw means big savings.

  • “Are your SmartWool socks seconds? Irregular?”
Asked by Mary Sue from SE Colorado on 7/9/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • Some of our Smartwool socks are 2nds. We classify seconds as items with barely perceptible blemishes or slight irregularities that do not affect fit, performance or longevity such as an error in the stitching or a slight fading of the product’s color. Labels on 2nds are usually clipped or marked by the manufacturer, and 2nds are often offered at lower prices.
