Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by pnwmom from Seattle on Thursday, March 15, 2018This dress is cute and comfortable. Love the lightweight wool fabric which is both warm and breathable-- works for a lot of environments. The dress seems versatile too; casual sundress or dressed up for work or evening with a jacket and shoes. Would have purchased the purple, but ended up with black since it was the only color available in my size. I think the black looks classy; it has accents of grey, red-orange and turquoise. I'm 5'6" about 120# with an athletic build and 34B bust; size S fits perfectly. My only issue is the integrated shelf-bra,it's unlined, and I don't find it all that supportive or flattering. I might have been able to pull it off 20 years and 2-kids ago, but as a 40+ mom, I'm lacking the perkiness to fill this out. I'll be wearing a more structured bra underneath in public. It's still a pretty flattering and versatile dress which should be a nice addition to the wardrobe.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Wanderer from Idaho on Sunday, March 11, 2018This is the perfect summer dress! I own other smartwool products, but this is my first for warm weather. The fit seems true to size, the built-in cami bra is comfortable and effective (but may not be for larger cup sizes). I’m actively resisting the urge to buy every color.
Reviewed by Mountain Gal from West Virginia on Tuesday, February 20, 2018I would give this dress a 3-4 rating. I'm 5'4, 135 lb with an athletic build and longish torso. The S was a little snug and the lightweight material was not flattering to any of my extra "cushion" spots (stomach/hips/butt). Perhaps the M would look better. This dress feels itchy to me for being merino wool. The color/pattern is much duller than pictured (purple/lavender stripes with dark purple trim). If I would have seen it in person and tried it on first, I probably would not have purchased.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by tjp from MT on Wednesday, October 11, 2017great summer dress, wish for a little bit more cover, but well made & good fit overall
Reviewed by Kat from Philadelphia on Sunday, September 24, 2017I frigging love Smartwool, but these dresses were pure nope for me. I hated the bodice in particular -- it's a bra-let, so it's supposed to be supportive, but the dress size that flattered my body best (XS) kept this chest area so tight I had wriggle my way out of it like a snake shedding skin. I couldn't return them fast enough.

“Do you still wear a bra with this with all the other straps already shown on dress? Wasn't sure...”
That is one of the things I really love about this dress... you can go with or without. The shelf bra is fairly supportive, but regular bra straps in the right color blend right in with the other straps in the back.
I do not wear a bra with this dress, but I am not well endowed at all. I feel the support is good for me.

“I am curious how this dress would look for my partner who is pregnant? Its obviously not maternity-wear specifically, but curious if adaptable/comfortable....
I doubt if this could be worn beyond the first trimester, if that long, unless she is very tiny. It is belted above the waist but the skirt is form fitting through the hips on me with very little give. I hope this helps
This is a relatively form fitting dress, it probably would not work well for someone that is pregnant.
Great, thanks for the thoughts!
