These are warm and light socks. They're great within most shoes from dress shoes to athletic shoes. I wear them mostly for biking but I really wear them any time. The only con to them is that even though they're superwash wool, they are still wool, so they shrink a little in the wash. Nothing big, just if you're borderline on size, i'd recommend buying a size up to accomodate.
