I'm not wild about having to wear a helmet, but... This one is as cute as it gets. I love the matt finish. It feels like it can save my life. Smith makes great products, and you can't be the STP price. Save your noggin. Wear this helmet.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. larger than usual fit for this brand

My son has always worn Smith bike & ski helmets, and he is always a size M. When his recently-purchased Smith size M helmet in a slightly different style was involved in an accident and needed to be replaced, I ordered him this model because the price was right. When it arrived, though, the helmet was HUGE on him and unlike many Smith helmets it lacks the adjuster wheel in the back to dial in the sizing just right - there's just a small elastic band in its place. Disappointed, we returned. Would advise ordering a size smaller vs. usual in this style and important to realize customized size adjustment is not what one might expect from a typical Smith Optics helmet.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Weird sizing and fit

I usually wear a L/XL in hats and helmets. I bought this in a L, but it was way too big. To make things worse, there appears to be no way to adjust the fit. There's a small elastic band at the back that will stretch a bit if it's too small, but no way of adjusting the fit it it's too big. I don't really think that would have helped in my case, the helmet seemed like it was a full size too big, too much for fine adjustments. But it still seems odd that there isn't an option to do so. Given these issues, I wouldn't recommend buying this helmet unless you can try it on first to verify the fit. Or, even better, just buy a helmet that's more competently designed than this one.

admittedly, the matte neon orange was too cool to pass up. this is a well made helmet. comfortable, true to sizing and light weight. you hardly notice you have it on. definitely recommend this helmet, particularly with stp pricing.
