I have major issues with circulation in my feet, they are freezing in winter, and now i have the answer. these sorel boots are really comfortable, even when walking around for 8 hours at work, and they are sooo warm, i am so happy with them.

though the sizing is a bit weird, i'd read that they are ... Read More

The Chesterman boots are a terrific boot on the cold day when you are going to be active. Although these boots have a great wool lining, they are not warm enough if you are sitting still - like in a blind or on the ice. They are great for a hike, but not through deep snow. The insole is very thick and comfortable. This is where much of the warmth comes from. They run a little big, but fit nice if I wear a thicker, warmer sock.

I bought the Nike Woodsides looking for the comfort that the Sorel's have. Put them on as soon as they arrived. The lack of a normal tounge made it a little difficult to put the shoes on but I know this will get easier as the shoes break in. Once I did get them on I was very happy with the feel. Shoes sort of have the feel of a pair of shoes you have had for a long time. The shoes are insullated but do not wear "hot". Have had them on all evening and they still feel great. I plan pn wearing these year round. I'll try to update if the shoes start to fall apart etc. but for right now, straight out of the box, I'm extremely happy with the shoe. Good luck.

This boot can be worn for multiple purposes... I love them! They remain comfortable after hours of walking in all weather conditions, plus last along time. Will definitely buy another pair if they aren't discontinued after this year just to have a 2nd pair in the closet. Thanks Sierra Trading Post!

Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 8/22/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • These boots would be fine for most cold weather use with proper socks, but they probably are not the best choice for extreme cold weather enviroments such as -40 celsius.

    • With good heavy socks, and fairly dry conditions, I would think so.

About Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it's not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1962 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel's advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today's active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.
