  • “What would be the size and type of replacement lacing for this Joan of Arctic boot? Do you sell them?”
Asked by Kate from Massachusetts on 12/11/2013 7:49:12 AM
    • We do not have a specific replacement lace for this boot.

  • “The winter white color looks almost like it has pink tone and pink accents… Is that accurate? I like the idea of a winter white boot, but I am really not liking the idea of a pink boot….
The metal color looks almost blue… or am I color-challenged when looking online?!
Also, I am a very average size 6- in every shoe I wear, I am size 6. However, from most reviews, I hear you should wear a half size down in these boots, but I am not sure. I tried on a size 7 (all that the store had) and it was big, for sure, but I am not sure it was big enough for me order a size 5.5. ”

    • I have this boot in the white: it is a winter white, not bright white and not at all pink. The laces and accents are grey, not blue. I wear an 8 as a rule, and the 8 sized boot fits great. Above and beyond all that: I love these boots. I feel totally unstoppable when wearing them!

    • Hi I can't answer your query about the color, I bought the tan grenadine, but I looked at your choice and they do look slightly pink but super cute. Size wise, I took the advice of the other reviewers. I am an 8.5 and I went with an 8, so sized down. Mistake, they were nice and wide but the length was too short, my toes were crushed up against the front of the boot so I had to send them back and get my usual 8.5 and they are perfect, roomy, but I like that because with these boots you are wearing them for warmth and against the snow and winter slush so probably wearing chunky socks.

    • size is true, a little generous to allow for heavy sock for warmth.
since my boots brown, I cannot speak for color. hope that helps.

    • The winter white does not have any pink or pink accents. The blue coloring you're referencing is definitely more of a light gray. I struggle with colors online as well. Overall, I was more pleased with the winter white than I initially anticipated.

I did purchase a size 8 and I'm a solid 8.5. The shoes are well insulated and they have a some weight to them which makes shoes feel bulky, so it's better if the boots are more snug. If I would have bought the 8.5 I'm sure it would have fit fine, but there would be a little extra room in the boot which might have caused it to rub the back of the heels. Even with warm winter socks the half size down fits ideally.

So, to answer your question, I think you will be fine ordering a 6, but the recommended half size down is pretty accurate. Hope this was helpful! Good luck!

About Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it's not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1962 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel's advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today's active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.
