I was surprised how much I like these. There are nice details, like the outside cushioning on the bottom of a leather sole (which can be too hard if you're on your feet all the time). Materials are high quality. They were comfortable too, though I got them as we're entering winter, so have only w... Read More

These sandals/shoes are so cute and well made, but I had to return them because my arch was too high for a good fit. I'd suggest ordering up a half size too.

I really like these Sorel Lake Shoes. They are a little different like a cross between a sandal and a shoe. They have arch support and are quite comfortable.

The shoes are a perfect fit and comfortable the minute I put them on. I received a lot of compliments on the style and color. One of my favorites.

These shoes are well made, a fun mix of shoe and sandal. I wanted something a little dressier than sneakers, but something easy to walk in, and these are a good choice for that. The leather is a little stiff at first and I worried that the straps would chafe my toes while I was breaking them in, but they didn't. There's no arch support, however, so walking or standing in them for hours leaves my feet tired. I have a low instep, which makes most shoes with non-adjustable straps hard to wear - They're often too high at my instep and I slosh around in them. This shoe seems to be made for folks like me with flatter feet and stay on just fine. Other reviewers mentioned that the heel was too wide and slip when they walk - I have narrow feet and heels and didn't find that to be true. The sandal was true to size for me, but again, I think that was because of my low instep. I think someone with a higher instep would need to size up in order to fit their foot under the straps, and that might create enough extra room for the heel to slip.
It's a great shoe for flatter feet; it would be perfect with some arch support, hopefully Sorel reads reviews!

  • “Is it recommended to order up or down if you are in between sizes? Example: I usually wear a 7.5 and only a 7 or 8 is available. Thank you”
Asked by shonette from michigan on 3/16/2014 3:03:16 PM
    • Because it's an odd fit (narrow in mid but wide at heel) and there is no strap for adjustment, I recommend down rather than up.

  • “i see there are lace holes on the top of the shoe, are these lace holes i can actually pull a lace through? or are they just for show? Also, the picture of the Honey color, shoes the leather pulling away on the straps, does the leather pull away that easily? thank you”
Asked by cindy from earth on 3/28/2013 3:47:26 PM
    • There are holes at the top of the sandal but more for show than for function. The sandals I looked at did not have any of leather pulling away from the straps.

  • “I use orthotics in all my shoes. This description says it has an arch support, but one of the reviews says you can use orthotics in it.|Can the arch support/footbed be removed on this shoe?|Is the sole relatively flat so I can use my orthotics if the foot bed cannot be removed?|How high is the arch support?||Thanks.”
Asked by Imelda from Middle River, MD on 12/23/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • This shoe has a medium arch and the footbed is not removable. Using an orthotic would be a personal preference.

About Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it's not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1962 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel's advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today's active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.
