  • “How heavy is this boot? I need a good work boot that's well insulated and not to heavy.”
Asked by Bob Construction Worker/Trucker from Washington on 3/28/2014 7:42:50 AM
    • They're very light boots, weighing in at 1lb, 2oz each.

I personally wouldn't buy these boots for heavy work - I suspect the felt tops wouldn't hold up the way leather would, and the uppers are a very soft leather that scratch pretty easily. That is just my guess though, based on their look - I've not used them long enough to know how well they'd hold up first hand, and they may in fact prove very durable.

    • Boot weighs approx. 1-1/2 - 2lbs. Not heavy. Worn with a good (smart wool) heavy weight sock, they are quite warm.

About Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it's not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1962 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel's advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today's active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.
