These boots are my go to boots when it is cold and/or raining. I love the stylish leather upper but just be aware that the leather upper is not waterproof so I wouldn't recommend wearing them in deep snow. But for those wet and dreary days they are great. I even wear them when it is a nice but co... Read More

  • “What is the EU size on the US6 of theses boots? I ask because each style of Sorel's are different ? Thanks ”
Asked by CB from Chicago on 12/29/2013 1:00:04 PM
  • “I wear a size 7, but everyone says to order down a size; would you recommend ordering down a size, even if it's a whole size, since these boots don't come in half sizes?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 1/22/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • I would order your true size.

    • There is no bulletproof answer to this and it depends on how you want the boot to fit. I didn't buy them a size smaller! In my case a size smaller would have been out of the question. I was going back and forth on this one, too, and I would have gotten an 8, but I wanted the black ones and they only had them in a 9 so that's what I ended up purchasing and I am glad that I did. I am a true size 9/9.5 US which equals 40 European and that's what I bought, a size 9US/40EU and they fit well, with enough room for wool socks. If I would have bought smaller, I might have had less room around my foot (it is quite spacious with regular socks), but I am certain my toes would be hitting the front of the boot for sure. However, people with a size 7 might have a different opinion on this one. I hope that offers some insight, I am sorry if it doesn't, but I tried! Good luck!

  • “Would these be good boots for a Chicago Winter? Snow, sleet, ice, for about a mile walk to campus?”
Asked by Anonymous from Chicago, IL on 12/27/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • These boots do not list a temperature rating but with thick socks could be warm enough to trudge through the snow. The lining is a light to medium thickness and covers the whole interior of the boot to add some warmth.

    • Not likely. Too big and bulky.

  • “I wear a true 9.5, since this boot only comes in whole sizes, should I order up or down?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 10/26/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • Buyers have stated that these boots run large.

    • Order down. I wear a 7.5 usually and I ordered a size 7 and they fit perfect.

    • I am a size 8.5 and ordered a size 8. They fit just perfect!

  • “Do these have temperature rating? Are they warm enough for snow? How thick is the felt lining and does it go all the way into the foot area?”
Asked by MEW from Denver, CO on 10/25/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • These boots do not list a temperature rating but with thick socks could be warm enough to trudge through the snow, but not for long trips like snowshoeing. The lining is a light to medium thickness and covers the whole interior of the boot.

About Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it's not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1962 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel's advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today's active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.
