Not for hiking but perfect for gardening, out in the wet, soggy ground, mucking around, good for cool and mildly cold weather (there is room for a heavy sock which I think any boot should have), perfect to throw them on to dash out to do errands as they are stylish and comfortable. Got these in red and they are darling-- could not wait to get out in the rain wearing them. Was sadly disappointed that they run quite small. I wear a solid 7 in boots and usually a 6.5 in other shoes,so I ordered the 7. Woo. Really a squeeze -- there would be no way for me to actually wear these anywhere comfortably. Wanted to exchange, but sold out in size I needed. Boo. They are lovely and I would recommend, just order up a half or even a whole size.

Got a great deal here at sierra trading post on rather expensive rain boots and ordered them in the cobalt blue, very cute with the polka dot laces. My walk to work at the hospital from where I park is 10 minutes and if it's pouring, my sneakers will be soaked so these will come in handy. Haven't worn them yet except to try on in the house as it hasn't rained (getting into cold weather with snow approaching). I have Sorel winter boots that I like so it's a great brand. Only gave 4 stars because it is stiff but hopefully will loosen up with wear.

My Ecko boots of the exact same style, design and size feel so much more warm and comfy. I bought these cos i got a lot of compliments on my grey/pink Ecko boots and wanted them in a different color. Love the look, love the color but these are so stiff they hurt my ankle. Fit just stiff and uncomfortable. Sad to send em back ;-(

I have gotten many compliments on my Red Rain boots, and the polka-dot shoe strings add flare. Absolutely love them...

I saw these on someone else and had to have a pair. I live in NV where winters are cold and snowy. I love these for snow shoeing and winter hiking. They have great traction on icy and muddy slopes and are waterproof, keeping feet dry. They are the cutest boot for wearing on a winter day runny errands and keep feet warm with winter socks. Top front of boot stiff at first and would rub with thin sock but a thicker sock prevents this.

About Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it's not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1962 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel's advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today's active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.
