I normally wear size 12 in dresses so I order size L (10-12). It was somewhat snug and too clingy for someone my age. Probably better for a younger person in better shape. It definitely showed my flaws!

I usually wear a Lg in casual dresses, 12 in dressier - 41" bust, 30" waist. This large (it is clearly marked "L") measures 48" across the bust and 40" around the waist. I don't know what size that translates to, but it's at least three sizes too big to be "large". I love STP, but this should have been noted.

However, when I got it it was humungous!! I wear a 14 in pants and dresses, so I'd ordered the XL per the sizing guide, but should have ordered a size L instead; maybe even the Medium. I went right away to reorder, but they were all out of the smaller sizes. The XL is really a 16-18, but it's a nice Eddie Bauer dress.
