However, they are quite short. I will either need to wear them tucked into boots, or pair them with just the right shoes. They are too short to wear with my usual work shoes.

I'm pear shaped, and this highlights those unattractive front and rear bulges. Not my favorite, but with the sale price and cost of return, I've talked myself into keeping them and wearing long tops. I'm about 5'4" but short legs; the length is OK and could even be hemmed a bit. Fabric is substantial enough. "Navy" color is definitely dark blue, but not almost-black like some navy colors. I can't see why they're seconds, but they were apparently made for that department store that sponsors a big Christmas parade, if you're curious.

I first tried the 6 and the crotch of these pants wanted to work their way down to my knees, also the leg length is on the shorter side (and I am not very tall). I then tried size 4, still short in the ankles, but still wanting to sag in the rear.. for the price I'll keep them since the material is reasonable thickness and seems to be good quality.
