I have a pair of pink canvas Sperry boat shoes that I've worn constantly spring/summer/fall for five years. I love them and they're still in good shape, but sometimes I want to wear them but they just don't coordinate because they're pink. These grey ones go with just about every casual outfit I own... • Narrowish

Length is true, maybe a bit long, bit they are a little narrow. I returned grey sperrys before for being way too narrow. I have never had the issue with brown or tan. These will stretch out and are VERY distinct. The back and collar of the shoe is canvas. The lacing is tied in a way that even Sperry is not showing how to do on their site. Foot bed is cushioned with arch support (probably why they feel tight at first). I tried regular size and 1/2 size up. Foot too long in next size, but width was good.

Cute pair of shoes. I wear 7.5 on dress shoes without socks. Bought a size 7 on this because i tried on at a local store and it fits well. The price on STP is better. The fitting from STP is a little tighter at the metatarsal bone area because of the elastic band. I guess it is to prevent your foot from slipping out. The toes area are fine, i still have room. This would not be for wide feet person. I'm keeping it because i will break it in.

I have a pair of pink canvas Sperry boat shoes that I've worn constantly spring/summer/fall for five years. I love them and they're still in good shape, but sometimes I want to wear them but they just don't coordinate because they're pink. These grey ones go with just about every casual outfit I own. My old ones are 8.5, which is the size I usually wear in most shoes, so I ordered these in 8.5 and they fit exactly the same. The canvas ones felt great from day 1, but these leather ones are requiring a little bit of break-in time. But they're just as supportive and comfortable, and the leather insole feels great on bare feet. I try to avoid buying leather, but these are even sturdier than the canvas ones, so they'll last for a long, long time and I feel like it's worth it.

About Sperry

After a slippery boat deck nearly sent him overboard, lifelong sailor and inventor Paul Sperry created the first pair of Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes in 1935. Determined to find a solution for better traction, Paul carved small grooves into the bottom of his rubber-soled shoes, called “siping.” His idea for the prototype was actually modeled after his dog’s paws, which had evolved to navigate slick, wet terrain. Today, Sperry boots and shoes combine siped rubber soles for outstanding traction with advanced technical fabrics to keep out the watery elements. Over the years, Sperry boat shoes have even become the official footwear of the U.S. Sailing Team, the Shimano Fishing Tour and the U.S. Naval Academy.
