I've been wearing the same pair of tan suede Sperry boat shoe/sneakers for years and decided it was time to give them a rest. I wanted to find them in navy, but they don't seem to exist. This is a good alternative so I thought I'd give them a try. I was really happy to be able to change the laces to the (provided) khaki and navy laces--really easy swap out. The shoes are very comfortable and they look great. My only complaint was rubbing on one upper heel due to the stiffness of the leather, but that won't last as the leather softens. It only happened on one side and I just need to put a band-aid there until the shoes soften up. They feel great and are comfortable for long periods of time.

These are a classic Sperry style but with a bit of cushion in the footbed. Being new leather they are a little stiff, especially at the back of the heel, but this will likely soften with more wear.

I know that when I buy Sperry shoes, I am confident that I will be happy with my purchase. This is a timeless design that will last for years. The company takes care to make the very best shoes for their prospective customers, a real class act.

These are cute but they were returned because I usually take a 9 and these ran small and narrow. I do have a wider foot but I take a standard 9 in all my other Sperrys.

I like these and they have great arch support, but run small.

About Sperry

After a slippery boat deck nearly sent him overboard, lifelong sailor and inventor Paul Sperry created the first pair of Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes in 1935. Determined to find a solution for better traction, Paul carved small grooves into the bottom of his rubber-soled shoes, called “siping.” His idea for the prototype was actually modeled after his dog’s paws, which had evolved to navigate slick, wet terrain. Today, Sperry boots and shoes combine siped rubber soles for outstanding traction with advanced technical fabrics to keep out the watery elements. Over the years, Sperry boat shoes have even become the official footwear of the U.S. Sailing Team, the Shimano Fishing Tour and the U.S. Naval Academy.
