  • So far, so good!

I bought these for my winter bike commute - they make a huge difference on those zero-degree, sunny days. My eyes don't water and I can see! My commute is only a little over a mile, so I haven't tested them yet on a longer ride. I'm getting a little fogging, but not much.
  • Useless as ski goggles

I tried using these twice. The first attempt was a frigid, windy, foggy day on the slopes. The inside of the lens iced over before I even made it to the chairlift from the lodge. I thought they would clear during the first run. They did not. Fortunately I had a second pair of goggles back at the lodge and used them for the rest of the day. The second attempt was a warmer, less windy, foggy day. I thought they might work better in these conditions. They did not. Same thing, inside of lens iced over completely. Even though the description for these goggles says they're good for skiing, and the other review here said they worked, I found them useless and returned them. Apparently Spy means it when they say these are non-vented. Spy and Sierra Trading Post should also say they're not meant for snow sports. Disappointed.

These goggles somehow fit my very small face as well as my husband’s medium face, so we each got a pair. They give excellent vision enhancement especially at night. My husband is a ski coach for our community rev night program, so he uses them frequently after dark, and says they make a huge difference not only with seeing different types of terrain, but also making faces and jacket colors clearer in order to identify his students properly. These goggles are also very durable. They live on the brim of his helmet, which he tosses around a bit, and they don’t have a scratch on ‘em. They’re pretty no-frills and not much fun to look at, but you don’t get this set if you are looking for bells and whistles or a fashion show. And for the price, they more than do their job.

About Spy Optics

The young and edgy free-spirit of Spy Optic characterizes their avant-garde approach to modern eyewear. This progressive and unparalleled commitment to product identity (and, of course, grueling product testing) has yielded major breakthroughs in optical engineering like Spy Optic’s Scoop™ venting technology, and ARC™ Prismatic polycarbonate and Trident™ polarized lenses. Despite the hip exterior, Spy Optic is all business when it comes to technologically advanced sunglasses and goggles - owning thirty-seven design and technology patents pending worldwide.
