I've had a chance to use this oven several times, and am dutifully impressed, not just by the quality, I'm now hooked on Dutch oven cooking. There is a differentiating feature to this one with the basting dimples in the lid. It does make a difference, UNLESS you have something on top of the food (spices, rubs) that you want to stay on the food. That said, however, the end results for this type of sealed cooking are the same despite that - maybe even better. It's very stable when moving it from the oven, which is essential with cookware that is heavy and at oven temps. Staub makes excellent cookware, and with proper care, it will easily outlast me. I just wish that STP had a greater selection at these discounts!
