Exellent boots - sizing is the key

These boots take a LONG time to break in, but the wait is worth it. I am a 9.5 – 10 and ordered a size 10 to accommodate thick hiking socks. The insoles that come with the boot are worthless and I replaced them immediately. No matter what insole I tested (settled on Superfeet green) they all made the boots feel a bit short. When properly laced and tied, downhill walking is a bit more on the toes than other boots I've owned but not painful. The 10.5's may have been a better choice for length, but probably not for width. The soles are ridged and hold up well against sharp rocks; traction is as good as it gets. Ankle support is better than any boot I've owned. These boots don't breath all that well, a common problem with all leather boots. Very waterproof out of the box, and I will eventually wax them for extra insurance. When I bought them I was hoping that they would be the last pair of boots that I ever need to buy and I am sure they will be. Great boot and great price.
