Verified Buyer Reviewed by wildbiologist from 7,000 ft. on Saturday, March 11, 2017This is Sno-Seal with a new label (see my picture of the last iteration of "Tectron Son-Seal." For smooth leather boots, this is still the best. Go with Nikwax if you have suede or synthetic uppers.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by PaOldGuy from Pa. on Sunday, June 19, 2016Seems to be very similar to the Sno-Seal wax leather treatment that I've used for many years. I use wax treatment almost exclusively on hiking boots, except when the leather needs to be stretched, softened etc., in which case I use mink oil or even the stuff made to soften up baseball gloves. Mink oil etc. seems to "load up" the leather more; wax not so much.

“Why do the Tectron brand of shoe protection require 'ground shipping' then only to 48-contigious states?
There is no such restriction on other brands of similar product, sent by USPS by Priority; unless these constitute an unnatural hazard, in which case the product may be hazardous in households with pets and small children. Even REI will send like items to HI and AK; there is a premium to these locations anyway. So the initial lower price is attractive.
Occasionally a vendor requests that we have certain shipping restrictions for their brand and we must honor their wishes, though we prefer not to limit the brands we sell. We continually review restrictions with our vendors to see if any changes can be made.
